Victron Energy MultiPlus-II GX 48V 3000 VA to 5000 VA I 230 V I Battery Inverter I incl. GX Control Unit
Inverter/Charger Including GX Unit
As an inverter/charger with built-in device networking, the Victron MultiPlus-II GX communicates with many batteries (e.g. Pylontech batteries), solar chargers and other devices to control grid-connected or off-grid power installations.
You can find the list of compatible batteries here.
With the Victron MultiPlus-II GX, parallel operation is possible in order to increase power output or battery charging capacity. The device can also be configured for three-phase power supply. Only one GX unit is required for this.
Many functions can be controlled via smartphone. For example:
- uninterruptible power supply
- setting of load limits
- supplementing limited grid power availability with battery power
- remote monitoring
Applications
The Victron MultiPlus-II GX is suitable for applications where an additional connection to other products or remote monitoring is required, such as grid-connected or off-grid energy storage systems (ESS) and various mobile applications.
The device can, for example, be easily connected to PV inverters and can also control and display them.

The MultiPlus-II uses surplus DC power to charge batteries or feed power back into the grid. Conversely, it can also discharge the battery and draw power from the grid to compensate for a shortage of DC power.
Another key advantage: the Victron MultiPlus can also form a three-phase network, be connected to other MultiPlus-II units, and together generate high power output, including three-phase.
Power Outage - Backup Power - Emergency Power
In the event of a power outage, the device disconnects from the grid and continues to supply the connected loads.
The switchover happens so fast that electronic devices continue to operate without interruption. This means you can generate both backup and emergency power without the external accessories otherwise required – the certified grid disconnection unit (ENS) is already built in.
The size of the battery storage used depends on the project. Battery storage systems from various manufacturers are available that are certified for use with this Victron Energy inverter. In the example below, only one device per type is shown.
This sample backup power solution is ideally suited for commercial, retail, office and private users. The battery storage used is scalable and can be expanded at a later date.
GX Functionality
The GX device is the communication hub that monitors the installation, provides firmware updates and allows the MultiPlus settings to be changed.
The built-in GX device includes:
- VE.Can interface for connecting Victron VE.Can devices (e.g. VE.Can MPPT) (can also be reconfigured for use with a compatible CAN bus Li-ion battery)
- VE.Direct port
- Ethernet port
- USB port
