Thanks to patented phase coupling, single-phase loads can be supplied on all three phases of the house – without any intervention and without needing a three-phase connection.

• Phase coupling with system:
  One phase is enough – the SMA system distributes single-phase backup power across all three house phases. This keeps important devices such as the refrigerator, internet or heating running.
• Fast automatic switchover:
  In the event of a power outage, disconnection from the grid and the transition to backup power operation happen automatically – within seconds and without any manual action.
• Minimal self-consumption:
  In grid-connected operation, the system requires less than 1 watt – ideal for energy-efficient installations.

Grid compatibility & notes

Suitable for TN-C-S grid systems. Three-phase loads (e.g. electric cookers, instantaneous water heaters) cannot be supplied in backup power operation. The Backup 3P Kit is designed solely for supplying single-phase loads on all three house phases.
