Pylontech Fidus Pro: 5.12 kWh low-voltage battery for indoor and outdoor installation

Fidus Pro FB-L-5.12-EU-Pro is Pylontech's current low-voltage generation and succeeds Pelio-L. One module provides 5.12 kWh nominal capacity, of which 4.86 kWh is usable, and operates at 51.2 V with compatible low-voltage hybrid inverters.

Outdoor installation without an additional enclosure

The IP65 housing and C5-M corrosion protection allow installation on an external wall, beneath a carport or in a damp garage. Cooling is passive and fanless. Pylontech specifies a minimum distance of 500 m from the coastline for coastal locations.

Integrated heating for winter operation

The Pro version includes automatic self-heating. It starts when the cell temperature reaches 0 °C and stops at 5 °C. Heating raises a battery from −20 °C to operating temperature in around two hours, using PV energy first, then battery energy and finally grid power.

Planning note: Charging and discharging are enabled only above −10 °C. In a parallel system, all modules must be Pro models; mixing standard Fidus and Fidus Pro prevents the heating function from working correctly.

Power and expansion

A continuous charge and discharge current of 100 A provides around 5 kW continuous power per module. The battery management system is built into each module, so no separate controller is required.

Up to 20 modules form one string. Up to six strings can be connected through an LV-HUB-V2-Pro for a total system capacity of up to 600 kWh. Modules can be added later; the newest module then assumes the master role.

Installation options

The manufacturer approves wall mounting, stacking with mounting brackets (maximum four modules) and installation in a cabinet or rack. One module measures 630 × 170 × 363 mm and weighs 45.8 kg.
