Main features of the Solax "FeaturePlus" system
- Three MPP trackers for flexible PV configuration – The inverter features three independent MPP controllers. This allows for optimal operation of even complex roof layouts with up to three differently aligned module strings, without yield losses due to partial shading or different tilt angles. Starting at the 8 kW class, SolaX uses three trackers, offering high flexibility even for medium-sized systems.
- Integrated backup power function (EPS) – In the event of a power failure, the inverter takes over the supply of critical loads via a separate emergency power output within < 10 ms (UPS quality). This emergency power function is integrated ex works and ensures an uninterruptible power supply in the home. An EPS box is optionally available for complete island operation (off-grid) or the synchronization of multiple devices in emergency power mode.
- Two independent battery connections – The X3-Hybrid G4 PRO has two separate high-voltage battery connections. This allows two battery packs to be connected simultaneously to increase storage capacity or operate different battery systems in parallel. This enables a flexible and scalable storage solution – ideal if the system is to grow with increasing requirements.
- 200% PV power can be used for battery charging – The
photovoltaic system may be designed for up to twice the inverter's nominal power. This oversizing option allows z.BConnect approximately 22 kWp of PV to the 11 kW inverter. Excess solar power is then used to charge the battery more quickly (the AC output to the grid remains limited to 100%). This ensures efficient charging of the storage system even when the sun is weak. (Note: If the storage system is full and consumption is low, the excess PV power is automatically curtailed.) - No curtailment in case of unbalanced load – The three-phase SolaX inverter can also deliver its full power asymmetrically, d.h. Up to 11 kW on a single phase, if needed, without premature throttling. There is no power limitation in the event of uneven load distribution. This is particularly advantageous for single-phase consumers with high power requirements, such as heat pumps, wall boxes, or workshop machines – even if they are only connected to one phase, the full PV/storage power is available.
- Parallel connection of up to 10 devices – For larger projects, the system can be expanded with multiple SolaX inverters. Up to 10 units can be operated in parallel to increase the total output or supply buildings with higher energy requirements. Up to 3 units are directly synchronized; for 4–10 units connected in parallel, an additional parallel/EPS control box ensures coordinated operation (including a parallel/EPS control box).common emergency power supply).
- Outdoor installable inverter and storage – Both the SolaX X3 hybrid inverter (protection class IP66) and the associated 10 kWh T-BAT SYS HS 10.0 (IP65) are weatherproof and suitable for outdoor installation. Thanks to integrated battery management with a heating function, the storage system operates reliably even at low temperatures. Installation on a protected exterior wall or in a carport is easy – ideal when space is limited in the utility room.
- Very low starting voltage – With a starting voltage of only approximately 110 V (MPPT range 110–950 V), energy generation begins even with low solar irradiance in the morning. The ultra-wide input voltage keeps the inverter active in the optimal range even in adverse weather conditions. The result: longer daily operating times and higher yields, even during transitional periods or in diffuse light.
- Energy Manager: The Consolinno Energy Manager connects SolaX devices with third-party manufacturers and smart home systems. It enables complex automation for PV surpluses, heating systems, or dynamic electricity tariffs. Perfect for users who want maximum flexibility and control.
Intelligent energy management
- Remote configuration and monitoring – Around 85% of all settings and parameters can be conveniently configured remotely. Using the SolaX cloud and corresponding apps, installers or users can make many changes without having to be on-site. Firmware updates and troubleshooting are also largely performed remotely. The system also offers comprehensive live monitoring functions for production, consumption, and the storage system's charge level.
- Dynamic tariffs and storage control – Energy management allows the manual entry of time-dependent electricity tariffs (e.g., variable tariffs from providers like Tibber). Based on this, the storage system can be automatically controlled to charge preferentially during low-rate periods and discharge during periods of high electricity prices. This allows the system to adapt to variable electricity price models and help reduce energy costs.
- Control of heat pumps – Heat pumps or other consumers can be controlled specifically with the energy manager via Modbus control in order to use surplus solar power for heat generation. z.B. the hot water tank is heated when there is a lot of PV power available at midday, instead of feeding the electricity into the grid.
- EV charging integration – The SolaX complete system is prepared for the integration of a SolaX EV-Charger wallbox. A compatible electric car can be charged with excess solar power, controlled by the energy management system. The wallbox communicates with the inverter to z.B. In surplus charging mode, use only solar power or charge based on the state of charge and electricity tariff. This maximizes self-consumption and makes e-mobility even more economical.
Optional accessories
X3 EPS Box:
The EPS Box automatically provides three-phase backup power for your entire home in the event of a power outage. Without it, your inverter will shut down in the event of a grid failure. The box safely disconnects from the grid and supplies your home directly from PV and battery power. Unlike the Matebox, it must be fully wired on-site and does not include an integrated smart meter—ideal for installations that require flexibility in setup.
X3-Matebox Advanced:
Same function as the X3 EPS box.Unlike the EPS box, however, the Matebox is fully pre-wired and already includes an integrated SmartMeter – this saves time during installation and ensures particularly clean system integration.
SolaX EV Charger (Wallbox):
The SolaX wallbox charges your electric car directly with excess PV power. Fully integrated into the SolaX system, no additional devices are required. Various charging modes are available: surplus charging, eco charging, or fast charging. Simple, practical, and extremely convenient.
DC and AC surge protection:
To protect against lightning strikes and surges, surge protection compliant with VDE 0100-712 is recommended for both DC and AC systems. In most cases, this is even mandatory. Ideal for new construction and retrofitting—compact, effective, and compliant with standards.
