The newest and most advanced features on the industry's most proven platform - that is the essence of OutBack's new FXR series of grid/hybrid inverter/chargers. The FXR grid/hybrid inverter/chargers, which can be operated off-grid or grid-tied in a single model, offer system designers unparalleled flexibility and compatibility for nearly every power conversion scenario.

The new FXR features and technologies on the proven FX platform include:

  • Both off-grid and grid-tied functionality in a single unit
  • Seven programmable modes, including GridZero and Support Mode, plus integrated network communication
  • Advanced Battery Charging (ABC) with extended charge voltages and timing parameters, allowing system designers to accommodate the specific charge profiles and algorithms of new and emerging energy storage technologies such as lithium-ion, aqueous-ion and flow-chemistry batteries
  • Easy field upgradeability of the system

FXR inverter/chargers can be paired with a MATE3 to add OPTICS RE, allowing system performance to be monitored and controlled from anywhere. Multiple units can be stacked and connected with other OutBack power electronics to enable seamless system integration and to work across a wide variety of applications and system sizes. Up to nine inverters can be combined in a 3-phase system with the 12 V, 24 V or 48 V models, delivering up to 36 kW in a grid-tied 24 V or 48 V system.
