The scope of delivery of the Fronius Reserva already includes everything needed to install the battery storage system. Each Fronius Reserva unit consists of a base with an integrated Battery Management System (BMS) as well as several battery modules – depending on the selected capacity. For example, the smallest model, the Reserva 6.3, includes two battery modules, while the largest variant, the Reserva 15.8, is supplied with five modules. In addition, all necessary connecting cables, mounting materials (such as wall brackets) and a brief installation guide are included in the package. This makes commissioning simple and smooth, without the need to source any additional components.

Modular Capacity for Flexible Storage Sizes

The Fronius Reserva stands out for its clever modular design: with two to five battery modules, the usable capacity can be flexibly selected between 6.3 and 15.8 kWh and tailored to individual needs. Several of these battery towers can even be connected in parallel – up to four units – to reach a total storage capacity of around 63 kWh. The modules are simply stacked on top of each other as a plug-and-play system, without complicated wiring, similar to building blocks. This modular design makes it possible to tailor the storage system precisely to your personal energy needs and expand it step by step as requirements grow, without having to invest in maximum capacity from the outset.

The Fronius Reserva is designed as a DC-coupled high-voltage battery, meaning solar power is charged directly into the battery with almost no losses. This means that hardly any energy is lost on the way from the solar module to the storage system – an advantage that maximizes overall efficiency and gives you more usable solar power. The high-voltage technology also ensures high performance. In combination with a Fronius hybrid inverter such as the GEN24 Plus, exceptionally high charge and discharge rates are possible, so that even short sunny periods can be optimally utilized. For you as a user, this means: maximum energy yield and reduced dependence on the grid, since your generated solar power is stored efficiently and released again at full power when needed.

With the Fronius Solar.web platform, you always have your PV system and storage system in view – all important information is displayed clearly and handled in accordance with current data protection guidelines. Your system data is stored exclusively on European servers and is protected by the highest security standards. Fronius, for example, complies with the ISO 27001 standard for information security, conducts regular security audits, and trains its developers in secure programming. In addition, the Reserva offers AI-supported energy management: the so-called energy cost assistant continuously analyzes the forecast PV production, household energy consumption, and even current electricity tariffs. Based on this data, the artificial intelligence automatically adjusts the charging and discharging strategy – for example, by recharging with cheaper grid power when there is little sun, which is later used to supply the household at higher tariff times. For you, this means maximum convenience and cost savings, as the system independently ensures the most efficient use of the storage system, without requiring you to intervene.

Backup Power Supply for Greater Independence

Speaking of safety: the Fronius Reserva is designed to be backup-power capable and even black-start capable. This means that even in the event of a power outage, the battery – in combination with a suitably designed Fronius hybrid inverter and a switching device such as the Fronius Backup Switch – can continue to be charged and discharged. In plain terms, this means significantly greater independence from the public grid and a reliable energy supply even in emergency situations. In the event of a blackout, the Reserva keeps important household loads supplied with power. During the day, the battery can even recharge itself via the PV system – completely without a grid connection. Safe and Long-Lasting Battery Technology

Inside the Fronius Reserva, a modern lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄)-cell chemistry is used. This is cobalt-free, extremely safe in operation (reduced fire risk), and long-lasting, as it loses hardly any capacity even after many charge cycles. LFP batteries are also considered low-maintenance, allowing reliable operation without much effort. The exterior design is also impressive: the battery is deliberately built very slim, so that it fits even in tight basement rooms or narrow garage entrances. With an IP65 protection rating and a wide operating temperature range of approximately -20 to +55 °C, the Reserva is resistant to dust, jet water and extreme temperatures. This allows the storage system to be operated reliably both indoors and in sheltered outdoor areas.
