Grid compatibility & notes

This backup switch is specifically designed for grid systems in which only the phase conductors need to be disconnected (TN-C-S systems). For grid systems that require disconnection of the neutral conductor, please choose the Fronius Backup Switch 1PN/3PN-63 A.

Switchover briefly explained

Internal information

When battery charge level, PV output and communication align, installers report real-world outage durations of between 8 and 30 seconds. The 90 seconds is a conservative upper limit, since the process is triggered manually (there is no fixed standard time).

For loads that require truly uninterruptible power (<20 ms), you need either the GEN24's integrated PV Point socket (switchover time < 23 s according to the datasheet) or an external UPS. The backup switch is not designed for this purpose.
