Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking
By continuously monitoring the voltage and current output of the solar panels, MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) ensures that all available energy is drawn from the solar panels and stored. This is especially important with partially cloudy skies or constantly changing light intensity. As a result, energy yield is up to 30% higher compared with PWM charge controllers.
Extending battery life
The intelligent load output function prevents damage caused by the use of "empty" batteries. You have the option to configure the voltage at which the Victron SmartSolar charge controller disconnects a load, in order to prevent excessive battery discharge.
With the BatteryLife function, the Victron Energy charge controller tries every day to fully recharge the battery. If this is not possible, e.g. due to bad weather, the device raises the disconnect voltage value daily until it succeeds. This preserves functionality and extends the life of your battery.
Remote monitoring and control
You can remotely control and monitor the extensive functions of your SmartSolar MPPT charger with built-in Bluetooth by pairing it with your smartphone or another device via VictronConnect. If your system is connected to the Victron Remote Management online portal (VRM) via a GX device, you have full access to your MPPT anytime, anywhere. Both VictronConnect and VRM are available free of charge. For remote installations - even where no internet connection is available nearby - you may be able to monitor your MPPT by connecting the GlobalLink 520.
