Choose according to your needs: a MultiPlus-II for single- or multi-unit systems, Quattro-II with an additional AC input, EasySolar as an integrated solution with inverter/charger, GX device and solar charger, or Multi RS Solar with an integrated solar charge controller.

Choose Your Solar Charger and/or Solar Inverter
Victron MPPT solar chargers charge the battery directly from the solar array with very high efficiency. AC-coupled solar inverters can supply household loads and can also be integrated into suitable Victron backup or off-grid designs. Both approaches can be combined for flexibility and resilience.

Victron systems are compatible with high-quality low-voltage battery storage, including widely used 48 V solutions. Battery capacity should be matched to inverter power, battery limits, load profile and the desired level of autonomy rather than selected by one fixed rule.

Should I choose a MultiPlus with an integrated GX device or use a separate GX device such as Cerbo GX?
At a comparable overall price, a separate Cerbo GX generally offers more interfaces, connection options and flexibility for future expansion. An integrated GX device can still be attractive where compact installation and fewer separate components are priorities.
How do I connect the different Victron devices to each other?
Use a GX device, usually the Cerbo GX, as the central monitoring and control unit. Depending on the device, communication uses VE.Bus, VE.Can, VE.Direct or supported wireless connections. Follow the current connection diagram and manual for the exact devices used, including CAN-bus termination where required.
Should I connect my solar panels to an AC solar inverter or to an MPPT solar charge controller?
Both approaches have advantages. An AC solar inverter converts solar power directly to AC for household loads, while an MPPT solar charger charges the DC battery directly. Many Victron systems combine AC-coupled solar and DC-coupled MPPT charging to balance direct consumption, battery charging and resilience.
How can I integrate a solar inverter into a Victron system, and what should I consider?
A solar inverter can be connected on the normal grid side of the Victron system or, in a correctly designed AC-coupled setup, on a Victron-backed AC output. The second approach can allow compatible solar generation to continue during a grid outage, but it must follow Victron’s current AC-coupling, frequency-shifting, phase and sizing rules for the exact equipment.
Why do I need to enter values in VEConfigure during commissioning, and how does it work?
VEConfigure defines important inverter/charger and battery-related operating parameters. For grid-parallel installations, use the current grid code, approved firmware and settings required for the installation country and system. If ESS is used, configure the current ESS assistant and operating strategy. For Pylontech and other managed batteries, follow Victron’s current compatibility documentation for the exact model and firmware.
When do I need a Lynx Distributor or Lynx Power In?
The Lynx Distributor provides structured DC distribution with fused connection points for batteries, inverter/chargers, solar chargers and other DC equipment. The Lynx Power In is a simpler distribution point and can be useful where external protection is already provided. Very small systems can sometimes be designed without Lynx components if all required fusing, busbars and cable protection are implemented correctly.
