Smart BatteryProtect
Protects the battery from deep discharge and can be used as a system on / off switch
The Smart BatteryProtect separates the battery from the less important consumers before it is completely discharged (which would damage it) or before it no longer has enough energy to start the engine. The on / off input can be used as a system on / off switch.
Bluetooth: easy programming
By using Bluetooth to program the Smart BatteryProtect, all required switch-on / switch-off thresholds can be set. Alternatively, one of nine preset switch-on / switch-off thresholds can be set using the programming pin (see manual) turn off the Bluetooth function.
A special setting for lithium-ion batteries
In this mode, the BatteryProtect can be controlled by the VE.Bus BMS. Note: The BatteryProtect can also be used as a charge interrupter between a battery charger and a lithium-ion battery. See the connection diagram in the manual.
Extremely low power consumption
This is important in the case of lithium-ion batteries, especially after switching off due to a low voltage level. Please also refer to our data sheet on lithium-ion batteries and the VE.Bus BMS manual for further information.
Overvoltage protection
So that sensitive consumers are not damaged by an overvoltage, the load is always switched off when the DC voltage exceeds the value of 16.3 V or 32.6 V.
Explosion protection
No relays but MOSFET switches and therefore no sparking.
Delayed alarm output
The alarm output is activated if the battery voltage falls below the preset value for shutdown for more than 12 seconds. Switching on the motor therefore does not activate the alarm. The alarm output is a short-circuit protected open collector output that is connected to the negative (minus) rail. Max. Current 50 mA. The alarm output is normally used to activate an acoustic signal, an LED or a relay.
Delayed switch-off of the load and delayed switch-on
The load is switched off 90 seconds after the battery voltage falls below the preset threshold value. If the battery voltage rises again within this period (after the engine has been started, for example) to the threshold value for connection, the load is not switched off. The load is switched on again 30 seconds after the battery voltage exceeds the preset threshold value for restarting.
