    Victron Energy VE.Bus Batterie Management (BTV)

    The VE.Bus battery management system protects every single cell of a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4 or LFP) battery. Every single cell of a LiFePO4 battery must be protected against overvoltage, undervoltage and overtemperature.

    Victron LiFePO₄ batteries have built-in cell balancing, temperature and voltage controls (in English: Balancing, Temperature and Voltage control). Hence the acronym: BTV.

    They are connected to the VE.Bus BMS via two M8 round connector cable sets.
    The BTVs of several batteries can be linked together.

    Up to five batteries can be connected in parallel and up to four batteries in series (BTVs are simply linked),
    so that a 48 V battery bank with up to 1500 Ah can be assembled.

    • Switching off or disconnecting loads in the event of an imminent undervoltage

    • Reduction of the charging current in the event of an imminent cell overvoltage or overtemperature (only for VE.Bus products)

    • Switching off or disconnecting the battery chargers in the event of an imminent cell overvoltage or overtemperature.

     

    Communication

    The VE.Bus BMS communicates with all connected VE.Bus-Products.

    It can be connected to

    • MultiPlus Inverter
    • Quattro Inverter
    • Phoenix Inverter

    The connection is via a standard RJ45 UTP-Kabel.
