The smallBMS with pre-alarm from Victron Energy is a battery management system to protect Victron lithium batteries from deep discharge, overcharging, excess temperature etc. It is designed for use with Victron Smart LiFePo4 batteries with M8 circular connectors.
This battery management system can be used in 12V, 24V and 48V battery systems. The number of batteries can be expanded at a later time without having to use a further smallBMS. A small "battery system" with a 12V / 60Ah battery can be implemented, but also a 48V battery solution with 3 kW.

Pre-alarm output
The level of the pre-alarm can be adjusted on the connected battery. Alarm in the event of imminent undervoltage, adjustable 2.85 V and 3.15 V per cell. The maximum current at the output (not short-circuit proof) is 1A.
The delay between pre-alarm and load disconnection is 30 seconds.

Charge disconnection output
The maximum current at the charge disconnection output is 10 mA and is not suitable for an inductive load such as a relay coil. The "Charger" output can be used to control the following devices:
- Remote controlled on / off switch of a charge
- a Cyrix-Li-Charge charging relay in design 120A or 230A and / or
- a Cyrix-Li-ct battery coupler in design 120A or 230A
